This site is dedicated to Luke Murphy and his descendants. I have been into genealogy for about six years. I found cousin's through an obit on the internet. We had lost contact in 1953 when their parents died. I am not going to put sources on the internet. Will be happy to share any information amd sources with other descendants of this family. Luke Murphy born in Wexford, Ireland on June 22, 1798. He migrated to New Brunswick, Canada in 1823. He met Elizabeth Fraser and was married at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Neguac, Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada on July 28, 1840. He had a farm. His neighbors were William Gratten and John Hayden. They came to the United States in 1880's. He lived with his youngest son until his death. Luke died July 19, 1895 of old age. He was buried at Hope Catholic Cemetery in Chippewa Falls, Chippewa Co. Wisconsin. Elizabeth died on Jan 12, 1896. She is buried at Hope Catholic Cemetery in Chippewa Falls, Chippewa Co. Wisconsin.

Elizabeth Murphy was born June 26, 1840 in Neguac, Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada. I found her in the 1870 census, but couldn't find her after that. She either died or got married in a different church.

He took over the farm that the family lived on. He married Mary McEuchreon.

John Henry Murphy was born in Neguac, Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada on October 19, 1845. He was a lumberman. He gave his home in Chippewa Falls, Chippewa, Wisconsin to the St. Charles Catholic Church. They turned the home into the rectory for the church. He died on June 15, 1918 in Spokane, Spokane Co. Washington. He married Isabella C. McDonald in Alexanderia, Ontario, Canada in 1876. Isabella McDonald Murphy died on May 16, 1921 in Minneapolis, Hennpine Co. Minnesota. They are buried at Fairmont Memorial Park in Spokane, Spokane Co. Washington.

Mary Murphy was born 1849 in Neguac, Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada. I have found her in 1881 census with her parents. When her parents moved to the United States. I lost track of her. Don't know if she went with her parents or stayed in Canada. She was a seamstress.

She was born on August 17, 1844 in Pokemouche, Glouscester Co. New Brunswick,
Canada. She had TB. They are buried at Hope Catholic Cemetery,
Chippewa Falls, Chippewa Co., Wisconsin. Charles was an
Insurance agent and Street Commissioner for Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
Charles was a Scaler for the lumber company in Hibbing before he got sick
with typhoid fever.

Luke F. Murphy was born in Neguac, Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada. He died July 8, 1957 in Madison, Dane Co., Wisconsin. He worked for the State of Wisconsin from April 11, 1911 until 1947. He was Warden of the Wisconsin State Prison. He had been acting Chief of the State School for Boys at Wankesha and head of the Beaurea of Probation for many years. He was Warden for three years during World War II. Member of the State Parole Board, Superintendent of the State Home for Women at Taycheedah near Fond duLuc, Winnibago State Hospital, Oshkosh and the Southern Colony at Union Grove. He married Caroline Mason on October 4, 1911 in Osceola, Wisconsin. She was born February 19, 1875. She died September 13, 1961 in Madison, Dane Co., Wisconsin. They are buried at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Madison, Dane Co., Wisconsin. They had no children.

Clayton Murphy was born January 2, 1911 in Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington. He died February 6, 1911 in Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington. He died of swelling of the brain. Clayton is buried at Calvery Cemetery in Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington.
****In the family missile (prayer book belonging to John William Murphy) Clayton's name was Clifford Eugene Murphy. My aunt Maude said that Grandma Liz look for him at Calvery Cemetery, but couldn't find him. I found a death certificate for a Clayton Murphy. Informat was John Murphy This was the only child that died in Tacoma that day. I checked the city directory for the address that they were living at and compared it with the address on the death certificate. They matched.

He is suppose to have had a tavern in Yelm.
